Abstract

This study looked into the parameters of the socio-cultural, economic and demographic dynamics of the Chinese in the Province of llocos Sur and also their contributions in community development. The study was confined to all Chinese household heads in 1locos Sur but only fifty percent was taken as samples. The household heads belonged to the middle-age, majority are married, most of them reside in Vigan, llocos Sur, majority are Filipino citizens, less than one-halfofthe respondents are college graduates, most of them speak Filipino while many of them still speak Chinese in their houses and most ofthem have acquired their own house and lot in the province. All of the respondents have their own business and some have even more than one business along varied commodities.
Majority of the respondents are members of different organizations, some of whom are officers while the rest are just mere members. Very few are involved in community development.
